Kafean Koffee is coming to Westfield Montgomery Mall (7101 Democracy Blvd) in Bethesda. The coffee shop will be located on the lower level of the mall, in the kiosk that was previously home to Moorenko’s.

The Mayor and City Council and Planning Commission conducted a Joint Public Hearing on June 17, 2024 on the redevelopment of the Lakeforest Mall property by WRS, Inc. followed by a Joint Work Session with the Mayor and City Council and Planning Commission that was held on July 8, 2024. Swiss chocolatier Läderach is now open in Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. The store is located on the mall’s upper level, in the space previously occupied by Chocolate Moonshine. Läderach is renowned for its FrischSchoggi (fresh chocolate) slabs, pralines, and truffles.

A Joint Work Session between WRS, Inc., the Mayor and City Council, and Planning Commission has been scheduled for Monday, July 8, 2024 at 7:30pm for the redevelopment of Lakeforest. The Joint Work Session will be held in the City Council Chambers at 16 South Summit Avenue. WRS has shared some information regarding questions they’ll be addressing at the work session next week (additional renderings below):

Banana Republic will close its Montgomery Mall location at 7101 Democracy Blvd Suite 2054 on July 17th, according to a representative from the store.
Java Fresh Café is now open in the Westfield Wheaton Mall food court. The kiosk serves hot and cold coffee, baked goods, ice cream, smoothies, and fruit bowls.
