Montgomery Parks is calling on the public to help select a new mural for the park activity building at Glenmont Local Park. From August 4 through August 24, 2025, community members can vote for their favorite design from four mural concepts, selected from a pool of 26 submissions by a panel of arts professionals and community stakeholders.

A new Dunkin’ location is set to open at 4011 Norbeck Road in Rockville, taking over a space with a long history in the community. In the early hours of Thursday, July 31, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 7400 block of New Hampshire Avenue. The incident, reported at approximately 12:09am, occurred in the area of the Red Carpet Inn in Takoma Park.
Chief Antonio DeVaul of the Takoma Park Police Department has announced the arrests of 18-year-old Mario Collins and a 16-year-old male juvenile, both from Washington DC. The arrests are in connection with a stolen vehicle, the possession of a stolen handgun, and the assault on police officers.
