Curtis Pride, a Montgomery County sports icon, has released his new book, “I Felt the Cheers: The Remarkable Silent Life of Curtis Pride.” The book features a Foreword by National Baseball Hall of Fame and Baltimore Orioles legend Cal Ripken, Jr.

Last year we reported on MoMo Hub, a restaurant that first opened in Clarksville, MD in 2022, expanding with a second location at Commas Food Hall in Ellsworth Place, Silver Spring (8661 Colesville Rd.). This new venue will bring an authentic Nepalese dining experience to the area when Commas opens later this spring.

Roaming Rooster, a local restaurant chain more than a dozen restaurants in the DC Metro area, is in the soft opening phase at its third Montgomery County restaurant at 8537 Georgia Ave. in Downtown Silver Spring– the space that was previously home to Flip’d by IHOP.
Passport Juices, a new juice bar founded by four brothers with roots in Jamaica, has officially opened its doors at Solaire Social, located at 8200 Dixon Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20910. Passport Juices has taken over the stall previously occupied by SOKO Oysters.

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has announced that 18-year-old Wilmer Ventura of Silver Spring has been arrested and charged with handgun and drug related charges.
Montgomery County government has awarded a $1.8 million grant to Victory Housing Inc. to electrify its Victory Tower property in Takoma Park, replacing fossil fuel systems with efficient electric alternatives to improve energy performance, indoor air quality, and climate resilience for low- to moderate-income residents. Montgomery Parks is unveiling an accessible viewing platform at Brookside Gardens, overlooking the Gude Garden, the popular Japanese-style landscape featuring a teahouse, rolling hills, and ponds. A ribbon-cutting for the new amenity will take place April 15, 2025, at 10am.
