Planet Fitness, known for its $10 basic gym membership, has announced it will be increasing the price to $15 a month for new members. Members with existing $10 memberships will see no change. The $10 membership rate has been in effect since 1998.

The Prince George’s County Police Department has announced that 27-year-old Edward Mejia-Sandoval of Silver Spring, along with 34-year-old Alexis Romero of Fairmount Heights, have been charged with fatally stabbing 23-year-old Lusvin Espana Espana of Hyattsville. The incident occurred at a restaurant in Chillum, MD, close to Takoma Park.
Chief Antonio DeVaul from the Takoma Park Police Department announced the arrest of Irvin Mauricio Esquivel, 21, of Takoma Park, Maryland, for larceny, resisting arrest, trespassing and other offenses that occurred at Walgreens in Takoma Park. This is the third arrest in the last four days for larceny at the store.
Chief Antonio DeVaul from the Takoma Park Police Department announced the arrests of Erick Ferrufino-Villatoro, 26, of no fixed address, and Christian Alexander Gonzalez, 18, of no fixed address, for larceny. The two unrelated incidents both occurred at the Walgreens on the 1300 block of University Blvd.
