Bomb Squad Handling Discarded Explosive Materials Near Clarksburg Outlets
Almost four years after 18-year-old brought a homemade or “ghost” gun with him to class at Clarksburg High School, his conviction has been cleared.
In April 2018, Alwin Chen pleaded guilty to carrying a gun on his person, however he was recently granted “probation before judgment”.
OneLife Fitness has opened at 20500 Seneca Meadows Pkwy in Germantown, the former location of Healthtrax Fitness & Wellness.
The location officially opened on Friday. OneLife has other Montgomery County locations in Olney and Rockville. Memberships start at $39.99.
Germantown Library will have it’s grand reopening on Saturday, October 16. The library closed back in April for renovations.

Accelerated deterioration of a culvert has forced the closure of Clarksburg Road between Bethesda Church Road and Prices Distillery Road.
While plans were already in place to replace this culvert in October, the Montgomery County Department of Transportation accelerated the project schedule after recent rainfall further damaged the culvert, which carries a branch of Bennett Creek underneath Clarksburg Road.

Montgomery County Police Investigate Armed Robbery in Clarksburg
The original press release from the Montgomery County Police Department listed Damascus as the location of the robbery. Below is the updated release listing Clarksburg as the location.
The Damascus Freedom 5K is an annual community event held on the weekend closest to 9/11. This year, it’ll take place on Saturday, September 11th, with registration beginning at 7:30am.
Proceeds from the event are donated to nonprofit organizations that combine to support troops and their families, including the Wounded Warrior Foundation, USO, Fisher House, Disabled American Veterans, and Hero Dogs.
Damascus Native Wil Armstrong Completes Cross Country Bike Ride For ALS
72 days after commencing his cross country, against the wind bike ride for ALS, Damascus native Will Armstrong has completed his trip. He started on June 26th from Rehoboth Beach, DE, and finished September 6th in First Beach La Push, Washington.
