This weekend, June 8 – 9, Metro will perform maintenance and repairs on the Red and Green lines, with normal service across the rest of the system. Trains will serve 93 of Metro’s 98 stations. Yellow Line service will also extend to Greenbelt instead of stopping at Mt Vernon Square, providing additional service for expected crowds along the Pride Parade route and other Pride Weekend events.

After months of preparation and planning, summer construction will begin on the Red Line June 1. Five stations – Glenmont, Wheaton, Forest Glen, Silver Spring, and Takoma – will be closed and with less than two weeks to go customers are encouraged to plan their travel alternatives.

This weekend, May 11 – 12, the Morgan Boulevard and Downtown Largo stations will be closed on the Blue and Silver lines for weekend construction. Free shuttle buses will replace trains to/from the closed stations connecting to the Metrorail system at Addison Road. Additional maintenance is also scheduled on the Red and Green lines with trains single tracking through the work zones. More weekend updates below:
