Governor Wes Moore Announces Hines to Lead $32.6M Transit-Oriented Redevelopment in North Bethesda

Per the news release distributed on Tuesday, May 26: “Governor Wes Moore and Metro today announced the selection of Hines, a global real estate investment manager, to transform a 13.9 acre site in North Bethesda into a transit-accessible hub for housing and economic development in Montgomery County. The multi-phase development project, which has received $32.6 million in state funding, is a key piece of the Moore-Miller Administration’s strategy to support housing development and grow Maryland’s life sciences sector. Developer Selected for Life Sciences–Anchored Mixed-Use Development in North Bethesda

Today, Metro announced the selection of Hines, the global real estate investment manager, as the developer for the 13.9-acre North Bethesda joint development site adjacent to the rail station. The firm has been operating in the DC metro area for more than 40 years and owns and operates $90.1 billion of assets across property types.

All Metrobus Routes and Schedules Will Change On June 29

Better Bus is Metro’s initiative to improve regional bus service. On June 29, 2025, Metro will launch its new bus network. After a Successful Red Line Launch, Automatic Train Operation Rolls Out on Green and Yellow Lines

Metro Transit Police Graduates First Critical Incident Canine

The Metro Transit Police Department (MTPD) has shared that it has “graduated” its first critical incident canine. Binki earned her certification as a therapy dog through the United States Police Canine Association (USPCA).

New Bus Network Added to Metro’s Trip Planner

Buses Will Replace Trains on Portion of Red Line This Weekend

Montgomery Parks and Purple Line Complete Fish Passage Project

Montgomery Parks and the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) Purple Line completed a new fish passage project at a stream underpass of Piney Branch Road in the Long Branch community, helping to restore habitat for migratory fish and supporting local aquatic communities.

Metro Reminds Customers of Construction This Summer

Work begins on the Blue Line July 5 and on the Green Line Aug. 2. This year, Metro’s summer construction is shorter than prior years with two months of construction in two different parts of the region.
