The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPS) has announced the following: “Justin Lee, a Montgomery County police officer, was found guilty today in the U.S. District Court in the District of Columbia for his involvement in the January 2021 insurrection at the United States Capitol. The guilty verdict was delivered by Judge Trevor McFadden during a bench trial.”

Announcement

When I moved back to Northern Virginia after several years in New York, most of my old friends had moved away. I found myself rebuilding a social circle from scratch.

I had plenty of people I could connect with online, but that wasn’t translating into anyone to grab a beer with after work, play trivia with, or text when I wanted to get out of the house. Making new friends as an adult required far more deliberate effort than I remembered.

MoCo Government

The Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection, in partnership with the Chesapeake Bay Trust, is offering $750,000 in grants through the Clean Water Montgomery Grant Program for local nonprofit organizations to fund community-driven projects aimed at improving water quality, with applications due by November 14, 2024.
