The Corner Slice, a mainstay at 7901 Norfolk Ave. in Bethesda, has closed. Readers have noted that the restaurant has been closed for a few weeks and our phone calls have gone unanswered since the start of the month. A sign has now been put in the window stating that Corner Slice is “out of business” according to Robert Dyer.
According to Maryland Today (produced by the University of Maryland office of marketing and communications), Vice President for Student Affairs Patty Perillo sent the following email to the campus community on Friday afternoon regarding lifting the suspension of 32 fraternities and sororities.
On February 2, the Montgomery County Board of Education (BOE) and Dr. Monifa McKnight mutually agreed to part ways. According to the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, “Today in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, before the Honorable Bibi Berry, defendant, Nickolis Williams, 33, of Wheaton, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for the death of 29-year-old Darcel Cole. Williams faces up to 30 years in prison per conditions of a plea agreement. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 30, 2024.” (more…)
