When I moved back to the D.C. area after several years in New York, I found myself rebuilding a social circle. Friends had moved away or settled into different routines, and finding a few guys to hang out with took more effort than I remembered.
That experience led me to start Choros. We first launched in DC about a year ago, bringing small groups of guys together around shared interests. The enthusiasm convinced me there were plenty of other men looking for the same thing: good company, reliable plans, and people they could keep getting to know.

The Montgomery County Council has scheduled several public hearings on upcoming legislation and funding proposals, including a $12 million state grant for community health programs, expanded survivor benefits for certain public employees, stricter licensing requirements for bodywork establishments, forest conservation and zoning changes, updates to road design standards, funding for the Olney Community Building and Police Satellite Station, revisions to the Fire and Emergency Services Commission, and proposed changes to disruptive behavior policies at public facilities. Kareem’s Lebanese Kitchen is hiring as it prepares to open its first Washington metropolitan area location at 212 Boardwalk Place in Rio. Furniture & Rug Depot has announced it is permanently closing after 30 years in Montgomery County. The longtime furniture and rug retailer, located at 5230 Randolph Road in Rockville, says it is shutting down after losing its lease and has launched a store-closing liquidation sale. (more…)
