Sean Whalen’s career is an inspiring journey that began right here in Montgomery County, MD and led him to the high-energy sets of Hollywood. Born in Washington, D.C. and growing up as the youngest of four in Silver Spring/Olney, Maryland, Whalen’s early years played a pivotal role for the 1982 graduate of Sherwood High School.
A traffic light has been installed at the intersection of Watkins Mill Rd. and Russell Ave. in Gaithersburg. As of Saturday night, the light was not yet operational, but it appears as though it will be activated in the very near future.

Curtis Pride, a Montgomery County sports icon, has released his new book, “I Felt the Cheers: The Remarkable Silent Life of Curtis Pride.” The book features a Foreword by National Baseball Hall of Fame and Baltimore Orioles legend Cal Ripken, Jr.
Last year we reported on MoMo Hub, a restaurant that first opened in Clarksville, MD in 2022, expanding with a second location at Commas Food Hall in Ellsworth Place, Silver Spring (8661 Colesville Rd.).
