Montgomery County has announced two free fireworks celebrations: Germantown Glory on Friday, July 4 at South Germantown Recreational Park and Mid-County Sparkles on Saturday, July 5 at Albert Einstein High School, both starting at 7 p.m. with live music and fireworks set for 9:15 p.m. In addition to the Montgomery County government events, fireworks will also take place at Gaithersburg’s SummerFest on Saturday, June 28 at Bohrer Park and at Rockville’s Independence Day Celebration on Friday, July 4 at Mattie J.T. Councilmember Evan Glass (At-Large) announced a month-long series of LGBTQ+ Pride events across Montgomery County in June, including a flag-raising ceremony in Rockville, a performance at Strathmore, and Pride in the Plaza in Silver Spring.
Residents across the county have reported receiving a fraudulent text claiming to be from the “Maryland State Department of Motor Vehicles” and demanding immediate payment. This agency does not exist, as it is called the Maryland Motor Vehicles Administration in Maryland, and the agency would not communicate with you via text.
