DC Sports

The Washington Commanders have won their first playoff game since the 2005 season, beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23-20 with a last second field goal that bounced in off the right upright. They head to Detroit to take on the 15-2 Lions in the divisional round on Saturday night for the right to play in the NFC Championship. Burtonsville

In November 2023, we let you know that plans were submitted to convert the current site of 7-Eleven (15585 Old Columbia Pike) and the adjacent Mattress Warehouse (15595 Old Columbia Pike) in Burtonsville into a Wawa. Construction plans were approved on Thursday for what will be Montgomery County’s second Wawa.

WSSC Water is urging all 1.9 million customers in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties to only use water for essential purposes effective immediately. At this time, water is safe and there is no need to boil before essential use.

Beyond MoCo

Kajiken opened its first DC Metro location at 1701 Rockville Pike STE A7 in Rockville this past summer, joining restaurants in Baltimore, Chicago, Manhattan, and San Mateo, California. Now, the restaurant has announced a soft opening on Monday, January 13th for its first Virginia location at 7505 Leesburg Pike D in Falls church. Our very own Mr. MoCo (Alex Tsironis) named the “brothless ramen” his favorite dish in Montgomery County for July 2024 (video below).
