Provisions Cafe has announced that it will be closing after three years in Germantown.
The Cafe opened in 2018 at 19520 Waters Road in Germantown and offered baked goods, breakfast, smoothies, salads, sandwiches, and more.
Gelato Galaxy has closed in Montgomery Mall, after less than six months in the food court.
Gelato Galaxy opened in the Montgomery Mall food court back in August of 2021 in the location that was previously home to Coldstone Creamery in the middle of the Westfield Montgomery food court.
Mr. Smoothie, located at 33 Maryland Ave G in Rockville Town Square, has closed permanently according to Google. The phone number has also been disconnected.
Mr. Smoothie, a smoothie and frozen yogurt bar chain, has most of its locations in New York with additional locations in Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and North Carolina.
Back in August, we let you know that Yirasai Sushi would be moving from its Westbard location in Bethesda to Park Potomac (12525 Park Potomac Ave Building G), following a conversation with restaurant management.
From August: “Earlier today we spoke with a manager at Yirasai Sushi, located at 5110 Ridgefield Road in the Westwood Shipping Center in Bethesda, who told us that the tentative plan is to close to the current location later this year as they prepare to move in to the old Elevation Burger spot in Park Potomac that became available last month.”
Buffalo Wings and Beer has closed in the Cloverly Village Center (15412 New Hamphire Ave), according to employees of the restaurant who told us the restaurant closed on January 4th.
Earlier this month, signage was placed on the window stating the restaurant was closed temporarily due to a staffing shortage, but the pool tables and juke boxes were removed from the restaurant. Google now lists the restaurant as permanently closed.
Unleashed by Petco will be closing its Downtown Silver Spring location permanently, according to a sales representative we spoke to earlier today. Unleashed, located at 8412 Georgia Avenue, will close by the weekend of January 29th.
The store first opened in 2015., according to Source of the Spring. Per Petco, Unleashed by Petco was introduced in 2009 with the opening of the first location in San Diego’s Hillcrest neighborhood. “Focusing on exceptional customer service in a fun, pet-friendly environment, Unleashed by Petco combines the personal commitment, intimacy and expertise of a neighborhood pet store with the price/value and rewards of a national retailer.”
The North Face store at Bethesda Row will be closing permanently this Monday, January 17th, 2022, according to a recording when you call the store.
The 5,000 square-foot-store opened at 4848 Bethesda Avenue on Bethesda Row back in 2011 and is the only freestanding North Face store in Montgomery County. The closest location can be found in Tyson’s and a representative at the store told us there are no plans for that location to close. There are also nearby locations at the Hagerstown Outlets, Annapolis Mall, and Towson Town Center.
Chapala Tex-Mex in Burtonsville has announced it will be ceasing operations on February 16th.
Last month we spoke with John Angel, one of the owners of the restaurant, who told us that they purchased the neighboring building that was home to Seibel’s for 82 years at 15540 Old Columbia Pike (Seibel’s closed permanently on November 28th).
