Silver Spring

Pollo Campero at 8662 Colesville Rd in Silver Spring has permanently closed. According to a report by Source of the Spring, the restaurants last day in business was this past Monday, December 27.

The fried chicken chain, which originated in Guatemala, opened their location in 1971 and has grown to over 400 locations worldwide, including over 70 in the United States.


North Bethesda

The lights are off, doors are locked, and phones are ringing unanswered at Taylor Gourmet in Pike & Rose. Google lists the restaurant as “permanently closed” and employees at two DC locations confirmed the closing.

Taylor Gourmet returned to Pike & Rose in October of 2019, a little over a year after the brand announced it would be closing all 17 of its stores in the DC area.


Beyond MoCo

In a letter to customers, Phillips Seafood announced the permanent closure of Phillips Crab House in Ocean City.

The seafood company announced that it decided to sell the property that was home to Phillips Crab House at 2004 Philadelphia Avenue between 20th and 21st Street in Ocean City.


Bethesda

BusyBees Chevy Chase will be closing its doors permanently on January 1st, 2022, according to an email sent out to customers this evening.

The children’s play space opened in Chevy Chase back in 2017 after opening in Falls Church in 2015,  but states that staff shortages have made their brand unreliable. BusyBees previously closed it’s Fairfax Corner location.


Poolesville

Earlier this week Bassett’s Fine Food & Spirits in Poolesville (19950 Fisher Ave) announced on its social media that the restaurant will be closing permanently on December 31.

On December 30, Bassett’s will be hosting a farewell drive-in movie night with two showings of Home Alone (5:30 & 7:45) and tickets for the event are $40 per car. Details below:
