Back in 1990 you could watch Back to the Future at the “Dive-in Move” at Stedwick Pool. In 2020, the classic film was shown at DC Party Box’s drive-in theater in Rockville.

This week we’ve got two more recipes from the 1988 Montgomery County Fair Cookbook. If you have any MoCo themed recipes for us to try, send them to [email protected] and we will share them here. Next week we’ll moving away from the retro style dishes and we’ll be doing recipes provided by the Montgomery County Beekeepers Association.
The cake was a little dry, but that was expected. The form held up well when I flipped it out of the pan (I’ve made traditional Pineapple Upside Down Cakes where I wasn’t as fortunate.)

Fleetwood Mac’s song “Silver Springs” is based on Silver Spring, MD. While many of us love Nicks’ music and the song itself, the title of the song could be one of the reasons people often add an ‘s’ to the end of our beloved Montgomery County… census designated place.

Jake Funk broke the Maryland state record for career touchdowns when he was a student at Damascus– he had 57 during his senior year alone.
His college career hasn’t worked out the same way. He spent his first two years seeing limited action and his last two seasons ended early due to injury, after he tore the same ACL in back to back seasons.
