Mr. James Allrich has been selected as the recipient of the 2022 Dr. Edward Shirley Award for Excellence in Educational Administration and Supervision. He has been principal at Argyle Middle School in Silver Spring since 2015. Full statement from MCAAP below: The Montgomery County Association of Administrators and Principals (MCAAP) is pleased to announce that Mr. James Allrich, Principal, Argyle Middle School, Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) is the 2022 recipient of the Dr. Edward Shirley Award for Excellence in Educational Administration and Supervision.
This prestigious award, given by MCAAP, is presented annually to an administrator or supervisor who exemplifies outstanding leadership and accomplishments in the areas of purposeful leadership, instructional or system wide leadership, human resources development, resource management, interpersonal skills, professional involvement, and community and stakeholder involvement. Mr. Allrich has spent the majority of his educational career in MCPS. Over the last 21 years he has served as a high school math teacher, a staff development teacher and administrator. In 2015 he was appointed Principal of Argyle Middle School – a whole-school magnet middle school with over 1000 students and a staff of over 100.
