5:25 PM Update: We received a message from Anytime Fitness letting us know that it was an Anytime Fitness staff member who revived his client at the gym.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a call of a man who went into cardiac arrest at Anytime Fitness on the 4200 block of Howard Avenue, near Knowles Ave, in Kensington around 4pm this afternoon.
2pm Update: Firefighters have extinguished the vehicle fire, 5 cars damaged by fire.
There are approximately 50 firefighters on the scene at a Downtown Silver Spring parking garage at 801 Ellsworth Drive near Fenton Street and Roeder Rd due to several cars being on fire in the garage.
Vehicle Fire Thursday Evening at Wintergreen Plaza in Rockville
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services and the Rockville Volunteer Fire Department responded to a “well-involved” vehicle fire in front of the Chipotle in the Wintergreen Plaza Shopping Center on the 800blk of Rockville Pike.
Approximately 85 firefighters were on the scene at Sabbath Ct. in the Goshen/Laytonsville area for a 2 alarm fire at approximately 4am this morning, according to MCFRS PIO Pete Piringer. PTemperatures were at about 19°.
All occupants were able to get out of the two story home. Firefighters were met with a heavy fire upon arrival. The fire extended from the basement through the roof of the split foyer home and fire crews were able to knock the bulk of the fire out by about 5:10am.
Governor Larry Hogan today announced that the State of Maryland will double the reward first announced by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Baltimore Field Division for information about a person of interest in the fatal fire that led to the deaths of three firefighters earlier this week.
“As we continue to mourn our fallen heroes, we are conducting an aggressive investigation into the cause of the fire that took their lives.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a 2-alarm fire on Carousel Court in the area of Girard Street in Gaithersburg at approximately 4pm today (Thursday, January 27th), according to MCFRS PIO Pete Piringer.

On Monday, January 24, 2022, three Baltimore City Firefighters were tragically killed while fighting a row house fire. Lieutenant Paul Butrim, Firefighter/Paramedic Kelsey Sadler & Firefighter/Paramedic Kenneth Lacayo were engaged in an interior attack of the fire when a significant portion of the home suddenly collapsed. Baltimore Firefighter John McMaster is currently hospitalized with critical injuries.Firefighter/Paramedic Kenneth Lacayo was a Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad Life Member and graduated from Wheaton High School. In addition to his service with the Baltimore City Fire Department, Kenny had volunteered in Wheaton for almost 11 years.
