Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating, Emerson Joel Funes Marquez, a missing 15-year-old from Wheaton. Funes Marquez was last seen on Thursday, February, 2, 2023 at approximately 2:30 p.m., in the 11900 block of Lafayette Drive.
Funes Marquez is 5-feet, 5-inches to 5-feet, 6-inches tall and weighs approximately 130 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt, khaki cargo pants and white slides. Police and family are concerned for his welfare.
Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police have arrested and charged 26-year-old Twon Kelly, of Kensington, for a shooting that occurred on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, in the area of Town Commons Court in Germantown.
At approximately 2:13 a.m., 5th District officers responded to the location for the report of a suspicious situation. Upon arrival, officers were advised that after hearing a knock at their door, the victims observed two male suspects, one armed with a handgun standing outside of their residence. The male suspect, later identified as Kelly, began to shoot at the house.
Per MCPD: A 17-year-old Montgomery County teen is facing charges after making harassing and anti-Semitic phone calls. On Tuesday, December 20, 2022, Montgomery County Police responded to the Jewish Rockville Outreach Center, in the 11300 block of Old Georgetown Road, where they met with a staff member who reported receiving multiple calls from a person who used anti-Semitic language.
During the course of the investigation, detectives from the 2nd District Patrol Investigations Unit were able to determine the identity of the caller, a juvenile who lives in the community.
Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged 29-year-old, Dennis Morris Hinnant Jr., of Silver Spring, with a homicide that occurred on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, in the 8800 block of Lanier Drive.
At approximately 12:44 a.m., Hinnant Jr., walked into the Rockville City Police Station and requested to speak with a homicide detective. Hinnant Jr., stated that officers would find the deceased body of his wife at their residence on Lanier Drive.
Per MCPD: A Fort Washington man has been charged in connection with a hit and run committed on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. Anthony Warren Offutt is alleged to have been driving an Isuzu NRR box truck when, at approximately 3:13 p.m., he struck an adult male in the intersection of Elm Street and Woodmont Avenue.
Montgomery County Fire Rescue responded and the victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

Sanchez Gomez was last seen on Monday, January 30, 2023 at approximately 7 a.m., in the 3500 block of Pear Tree Court. Sanchez Gomez is approximately 5-feet, 8-inches tall and weighs 175 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. It is unknown what clothing she was last seen wearing. Police and family are concerned for her welfare.

Montgomery County Police announced Wednesday morning that they are investigating a homicide that occurred in Silver Spring. According to a tweet, “MCPD is investigating a homicide in the 8800 block of Lanier Drive. A suspect is in custody and the scene is secure. Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) – 3rd District Investigative Section have charged 41-year-old Harold Barnes, of Washington, D.C., with the armed robbery of a U.S. Postal carrier that occurred on Monday, January 23, 2023, in the 800 block of Hudson Ave. in Silver Spring.
The joint investigation by detectives from MCPD and U.S. Postal Inspection Service has revealed that the adult male victim was delivering mail at the location when Barnes approached him, pointed a firearm and demanded his property. The victim handed over his property to Barnes, who then left the scene.
