Germantown

Montgomery County Police responded to reports of shots fired around 2pm on Sunday April 2.  According to MCPD, the incident occurred near the town houses on Celebration Way, off Middlebrook Rd in Germantown (across from Germantown Commons Shopping Center) and stemmed from an argument between several individuals which led to shots being fired. There were no injuries reported and there is believed to be no threat to the community at this time. Two juveniles that were seen running away from the scene were taken into custody but neither was identified as the shooter. The shooter is believed to have left the scene in a vehicle.

Silver Spring

Montgomery County Police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Saturday, April 1, at approximately 7:36 p.m., on Norbeck Road near Norwood Road. According to MCPD, “The preliminary investigation has revealed that a vehicle was traveling westbound on Norbeck Road when it crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a vehicle traveling eastbound.

The driver of the striking vehicle sustained life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The adult occupant of the other vehicle sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital.  


Burtonsville

The preliminary investigation has revealed that the four suspects arrived at the store in a white sedan. The suspects then forced entry into the store by breaking a glass panel with a stone. The suspects then entered the store, stole merchandise, damaged property and left the scene.  Detectives reviewed the surveillance footage of the store and obtained a description of the four suspects.


Silver Spring

Felipe is approximately 5-feet, 4-inches tall and weighs 115 pounds. She has shoulder length black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black Ugg boots.   Police and family are concerned for her welfare.

Gaithersburg

Montgomery County Police responded to Watkins Mill High School at 10301 Apple Ridge Rd in Montgomery Village at 10:05am on Thursday morning for the report of an assault. According to police, “MCPD is on scene investigating an assault between two students at Watkins Mill HS. The school briefly went into a shelter in place to support the investigation. No injuries have been reported. The suspect is in custody. The shelter in place has been lifted at this time. The school is secure and there is no current threat at this time.”

Silver Spring

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Investigative Section are investigating two shed burglaries that occurred on Sunday, March 12, 2023, in the 12300 block of Middle Rd in Wheaton. Detectives have released photos of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him. At approximately 8:52 a.m., 4th District officers responded to the location for the report of a theft that occurred earlier. The investigation by detectives determined that the adult male victim woke up and found his shed door open. He checked his security cameras and observed the suspect walk through his backyard with a wheelbarrow, enter his shed and put multiple tools in the wheelbarrow, before leaving the scene.

On the same date at approximately 9:44 a.m., 4th District officers responded to the same block for the report of a burglary that occurred earlier. The investigation by detectives determined that the adult male victim was reviewing his security cameras, from the night before, when he observed the suspect enter his shed and leave with multiple stolen tools.


Rockville

Gamez is approximately 5-feet, 2-inches tall and weighs 120 pounds. She has shoulder length black hair and brown eyes. It is unknown what she was last seen wearing. She may be traveling with missing teen Genesis Chavez. Police and family are concerned for her welfare.

Aspen Hill

Chavez is approximately 5-feet tall and weighs 115 pounds. She has short black hair and brown eyes. It is unknown what she was last seen wearing. She may be traveling with missing teen Elia Rosado Gamez. Police and family are concerned for her welfare.

Burtonsville

Per MCPD: Detectives form the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Gabriella Zamora, a missing 17-year-old from Burtonsville.  Zamora was last seen on Saturday, March 25, 2023 in the 3900 block of Blackburn Lane.

Zamora is approximately 5-feet, 4-inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. She has brown hair and green eyes. She has tattoos on her left wrist and forearm, upper/middle back and on her left calf. Zamora was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants.  Police and family are concerned for her welfare.


Aspen Hill

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested 19-year-old Hector Zelaya Reyes with an armed robbery that occurred on Friday, February 3, 2023, in the 14100 block of Weeping Willow Drive in Aspen Hill.  At approximately 1:10 p.m., 4th  District officers responded to the location for the report of an armed robbery.

The investigation by detectives has revealed that the victim, a ride share driver, picked up a passenger, later identified as Zelaya Reyes, in the 12900 block of Connecticut Ave. and drove him to the 14100 block of Weeping Willow Drive. Upon arrival, Zelaya Reyes asked the victim for change, displayed a black handgun and demanded money. The victim handed over an undisclosed amount of money to Zelaya Reyes, who then exited the vehicle and left the scene.  Through the investigation, detectives identified Zelaya Reyes as the suspect.


Aspen Hill

On Friday, March 10, 2023, two victims parked their vehicles at the location. While the victims were inside the fitness center, the suspects forced entry into their vehicles. The suspects stole one of the victim’s personal belongings, including credit cards, from one of the vehicles. Several fraudulent transactions were then made with the stolen credit cards.
