Darnestown

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal single vehicle collision that occurred the morning of Wednesday, March 22, 2023, in the 14400 block of Turkey Foot Road.  At approximately 12:27 a.m.,1st District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the location for the report of a traffic collision.

The investigation by detectives has determined that the driver of a gray 2017 Toyota 4Runner was traveling west in the 14400 block of Turkey Foot Road. For reasons that are still under investigation, the Toyota left the roadway and struck multiple trees, causing the vehicle to overturn.  The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The decedent has been identified as 48-year-old Mark Sampson, of Gaithersburg.   This is an active and ongoing investigation.


Montgomery Village

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 17-year-old from Montgomery Village. Lesly Hernandez Perez was last seen on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at approximately 7 a.m., in the 8300 block of Stedmall Ter.

Perez is approximately 5-feet, 4-inches tall and weighs 130 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair and was last seen wearing a pink jacket, blue jeans and white shoes. Police and family are concerned for her welfare.


Germantown

Montgomery County Police and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a collision involving a motorcycle on Wednesday evening in Germantown. According to MCPD, “At approximately 6:48 p.m., MCP officers responded to the area of Frederick Rd. and Cider Press Place in Germantown for the report of a collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle.

Darnestown

Montgomery County Police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred at approximately 12:27 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 in Darnestown. According to MCPD, “The preliminary investigation has revealed that the driver of a gray Toyota 4Runner was traveling west in the 14400 block of Turkey Foot Road. For reasons that are still under investigation, the Toyota left the roadway and struck multiple trees, causing the vehicle to overturn. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The Montgomery County Department of Police, Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating this collision. A news release will be distributed once more information is available, including the name of the deceased following proper notification of next of kin.”

Silver Spring

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested 21-year-old Javier Reyes of Silver Spring and 20-year-old Brian Gaitan-Sanchez of Bladensburg for the homicide that occurred on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, in the 1700 block of Hampshire Green Ln. in Silver Spring.  Reyes and Gaitan-Sanchez are accused of killing 20-year-old Walter Woods, of Takoma Park. Through the investigation, detectives identified Reyes and Sanchez as suspects.

Both were transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where they are being held without bond.


Gaithersburg

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) have arrested 30-year-old Jamaal Germany, of Gaithersburg, for an attempted kidnapping that occurred this morning, Monday, March 20, 2023. SVID detectives are asking for anyone who believes that they may have been a victim of Germany to call 240-773-5400.

At approximately 7:54 a.m., the Community Engagement Officer (CEO) of Redland Middle School responded to the school for the report of an attempted kidnapping. The victim stated that they were standing at the bus stop in the 17600 block of Towne Crest Dr., at approximately 7:20 a.m., when the suspect allegedly grabbed the child and pulled them toward an apartment building. Several students who were standing at the bus stop attempted to intervene and the victim was able to break free. When the school bus arrived, all the students boarded the bus and the incident was reported to school staff.


Damascus

Per MCPD:

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 5th District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 42-year-old from Damascus.  Jay M-Tuner was last seen on Friday, March 17, 2023, at approximately 3 p.m., leaving his residence on Showbarn Circle in Damascus.


Bethesda

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a single vehicle collision with roll over on Monday afternoon. According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the incident occurred on the Outer Loop I495 between Old Georgetown Rd and River Rd, prior to the I270 Spur/Bradley Blvd overpass. EMS transported two adult trauma patients, both with non-life threatening injuries.

Gaithersburg

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 16-year-old from Gaithersburg. Betsy Santiago was last seen on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at approximately 12:15 a.m., in the 400 block of Muddy Branch Rd.

Santiago is approximately 5-feet, 10-inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. She has brown eyes and shoulder length hair that is dyed purple and was last seen wearing all black clothing. She also has her lip and nose pierced.  Police and family are concerned for her welfare.


Germantown

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 5th District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 19-year-old from Germantown. Melchizedek Meredith was last seen on Thursday, March 16, 2023, in the 18300 block of Cottage Garden Dr.

Meredith is approximately 6-feet, 2-inches tall and weighs 175 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair. It is unknown what he was last seen wearing. Police and family are concerned for his welfare.
