Six Montgomery County Men Indicted on Conspiracy Charges for “Boot” Distribution Operation in West Virginia

The United States Attorney’s Office of West Virginia has announced that sixteen people from Maryland and West Virginia have been indicted on conspiracy charges for distribution of controlled dangerous substances and conspiracy to distribute controlled substances in Maryland and West Virginia.

The indictment alleges that large quantities of Eutylone, also known as “boot,” were trafficked from Montgomery County to Berkeley and Jefferson Counties, West Virginia between February 2019 to March 15, 2022.

17-Year-Old Suspect Arrested for Incidents of Unwanted Touching at Black Hill Regional Park

A 17-year-old was arrested on Saturday, April 9 in connection with several incidents of “unwanted touching” at Black Hill Regional Park in Germantown. According to Park Police, on more than one occasion, the suspect touched people on the buttocks, which is a forth degree sex offense, and then drove away on an electric bicycle.

The investigation took place over several weeks and involved an increased police presence and undercover officers at the park.

Olney Man Arrested for University of Maryland Sexual Assault

Damascus Man Pleads Guilty to Federal Drug Charges

A Damascus Maryland man has pled guilty to distribution of controlled dangerous substances and conspiracy to distribute controlled substances in Maryland and West Virginia, Montgomery County Police reports.

According to a press release, from May 2016 through July 2018, 38-year-old Adebowale Ojo distributed crack cocaine, cocaine and heroin to users and street level dealers in Montgomery County, Frederick County and West Virginia.

The Washington Regional Alcohol Program’s SoberRide program will be offering free Lyft rides from 4 pm, Thursday, March 17 until 4am, Friday, March 18.

WRAP’s SoberRide will provide a free Lyft ride home up to $15. Users are then financially responsible for anything over $15.

Montgomery County Man Killed in Hit and Run; Vehicle Sought By D.C. Police

Detectives with the Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a vehicle sought in a fatal hit and run resulting that occurred on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at the intersection of 18^th Street and Florida Avenue, Northwest.

Preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 8:03 pm, suspect entered the victim’s unoccupied vehicle in the 1800 block of Vernon Street, Northwest. The suspect attempted to flee the scene in the vehicle and struck the victim at the listed location. The suspect then fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and found that the victim displayed no signs consistent with life. The victim remained on scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The Rockville City Police Department will host a “Coffee with a Cop” event this Wednesday, March 9, from 9:30-11:30 at the Congressional Plaza Starbucks located at 1621 Rockville Pike.

Residents can stop by to grab a coffee, pick up RCPD swag, and speak to speak with officers from the RCPD.

Woman Killed in Crash and Officer Identified in Fatal Police Pursuit in Montgomery County Early Saturday Morning

A driver died following a fatal crash early Saturday morning. The crash occurred after the driver lost control and while being pursued by a police officer and struck a fence post and tree near the intersection of Randolph Rd and Connecticut Ave.

The Independent Investigations Division of the Office of the Attorney General has identified the decedent and involved officer in the fatal crash that occurred on February 26 in Montgomery County. The single-vehicle crash followed a police pursuit.

Rockville Man Charged With First Degree Murder in Connection With Lakeforest Mall Stabbing Last Week

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police Major Crimes Division – Homicide Section, have arrested and charged a Rockville man in connection with a homicide at the Lakeforest Mall in Gaithersburg.

On Monday, February 21, Gaithersburg City and Montgomery County Police officers responded to Lakeforest Mall, located at 701 Russell Ave. for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located 23-year-old Jose Alexander Maldonado suffering from multiple stab wounds. Maldonado was transported to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
