Islands Tropical Café Rebrands With Expanded Menu
Islands Tropical Café located at 9324 Georgia Ave in Silver Spring, is now Tropics Ice Cream & Jerk.
Gyuzo Japanese BBQ Reopens
After a two month temporary closure, Gyuzo Japanese BBQ at 33 Maryland Avenue #320 in Rockville has reopened. The restaurant just opened in November of last year but made the decision to pause the business when the December 15th indoor dining ban was announced.

Gong Cha and Fuji Teriyaki Will Hold its Soft Opening on Wednesday, 2/3 at the Orchard Center in Calverton
Bubble tea and teriyaki will be available starting tomorrow at the Orchard Center on Cherry Hill Rd in Calverton, as the Gong Cha/Fuji Teriyaki combo shop will hold its soft opening tomorrow (Wednesday, 2/3) from 11am-10pm.
Heavenly Wings Now in Germantown
Heavenly Wings has a brand new food truck located at 19815 Germantown Rd. in Germantown (EXXON station). They are closed on Wednesdays and Sundays but are open every other day from 11AM-10PM.
Big Greek Cafe Hillandale is Coming Soon!
Big Greek Cafe has become one of the most popular restaurants in MoCo in recent years, having opened four locations across the county (Bethesda, Downtown Silver Spring, Kensington, and Rockville).
In addition to accepting new applications, MCEDC will provide the original 793 recipients of the Restaurant Relief Grant Program with an automatic $5,000 supplemental grant from the Phase Two funds, provided that they are still open and meet all prior eligibility requirements. Given the closeness in time to the first round and to ease any burdens on restaurants to apply, previous Phase One recipients will not need to take any steps to directly apply for the $5,000 supplemental grant. Those original recipients will receive an email from MCEDC clarifying the details and timing of their Phase Two $5,000 supplemental grant. All grants will be distributed by March 15, 2020.

A CLOSED sign on the front door of Noodles & Company at 20952 Frederick Rd in Germantown reads “we’re not closed, just simmering.”
