Concern for Missing Silver Spring Teenager
The Montgomery County Council has approved funding to acquire the property on 1110 East-West Highway in Downtown Silver Spring.

Montgomery County Police Chief Marcus Jones has announced that the suspect from this morning’s incident at Blair High school has been arrested and is in police custody.

Manna Food Center today announced Deanna Wilson, District Director for Giant Food, was elected as its new board chair during the organization’s recent annual meeting. Wilson, who joined the Manna Food Center Board in 2017, succeeds Lisa Davis, Senior Vice President of Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Campaign.
“As rising board chair, Deanna played such an important role for Manna, especially helping us navigate the pandemic’s unique and formidable challenges,” said Jackie DeCarlo, CEO of Manna Food Center. “I look forward to being guided by Deanna, who brings strong management expertise in an industry so critical to Manna’s mission.”
A pickup truck with an attached food service trailer caught fire at the Shell gas station at 12401 Georgia Ave on Wednesday morning around 9:30am.
Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Pete Piringer reports that the the truck caught fire at the gas pump and was well-involved (engulfed) before being extinguished.
