Kisco Senior Living, Currently Being Constructed Next to LifeTime in Gaithersburg, Announces Donation to the Benjamin Gaither Center

The Center will utilize the donation for facility improvements & expansion of culturally enriching programs

Kisco Senior Living, which is currently being constructed next to Life Time in Gaithersburg, and joint venture partners Welltower® (NYSE: WELL) & SHA Capital Partners have announced a donation of $50,000 to the City of Gaithersburg’s Benjamin Gaither Center. The Center will serve residents of Gaithersburg & the surrounding community who are 55 years of age & older, will utilize the donation for facility improvements & an expansion of culturally enriching programs.

“The Benjamin Gaither Center provides a place for the community to be active & connect with each other. Our Kisco team is excited to offer this donation as our brand is founded upon the same values of providing enriching experiences & active lifestyles for seniors,” said MJ Ritschel, chief investment officer at Kisco Senior Living. “We look forward to our continued collaboration with the Center as we join the Gaithersburg community and are grateful for the opportunity to watch up close as its programming grows to support this senior population.” Kisco Senior Living and its joint venture partners broke ground last year on The Carnegie at Washingtonian Center. The seven-story community will offer 302 one- & two-bedroom floorplans for independent living, assisted living & memory care residences when it welcomes residents in the spring of 2024.

The Benjamin Gaither Center, located at 80-A Bureau Drive, is open weekdays to all members and offers a wide variety of fitness & special interest classes, trips, special events & activities. The donation was announced during an event celebrating international dance, part of the Center’s focus on providing enriching and educational multicultural experiences for Gaithersburg’s diverse population.

“The City of Gaithersburg appreciates Kisco Senior Living’s investment in our community,” said Mayor Jud Ashman. “The members of our Benjamin Gaither Center will most definitely benefit from this donation, which will allow us to make some needed updates to this well-used facility & provide even more programming for our active seniors. We can’t wait to welcome Gaithersburg’s newest residents when The Carnegie at Washingtonian Center opens in 2024. There is a lot to do in our community, and we look forward to helping The Carnegie’s residents explore it all.”

The Carnegie at Washingtonian Center will feature a variety of wellness and fitness amenities, from a saltwater pool to a yoga studio, and access to health care on-site. Lifestyle amenities will include a lecture hall for ongoing local educational programming; computer learning center; curated art gallery; cooking demonstration kitchen; and an outdoor landscaped park with a trail leading to Malcolm King Park.
