June 24th, 2022: A-Of-G Studio is delighted to announce the launch of the much- anticipated album by talented rapper, singer, and comedian, Money M.I.C, entitled “Love and Money”. Described as a theatrical listening experience, the album launch is scheduled to take place Friday July 15th 2022, at the Black Box Theatre on in DownTownSilver Spring from 8-11pm.
The focus of National Night Out is to enhance the partnership among neighbors, law enforcement, and businesses, to cultivate a true sense of community. “While Olney already has a good relationship with our first responders, this event provides a great opportunity to thank and engage those who keep us safe,” added Hogan. “It’s also a chance to get out and meet your neighbors, and that truly is what National Night Out is all about.”
Lieutenant Doug Miller, Deputy Commander of the Montgomery County Police Department’s Fourth District, said the police look forward to participating in Olney ‘s NNO event. “National Night Out is a great way to build community partnerships and engage with our Olney residents,” he said. “We enjoy connecting with our citizens, educating the community in crime prevention tips, sharing the best practices to stay safe, and quite simply having fun listening to music and eating delicious food.”
At approximately 1:50 p.m., 1st District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the location for the report of a traffic collision.
The investigation by detectives has determined that the driver of a white 2019 Ford F-550 was traveling westbound on River Rd. The driver of a silver 2012 Toyota Camry was attempting to make a left turn from southbound Stoney Creek Rd. onto eastbound River Rd. This intersection is controlled by a stop sign located on Stoney Creek Rd.

According to Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services Pete Piringer, Fire Investigators recently arrested Bill Clinton Gomzez, 18, of Rockville and charged him with 2nd degree arson for allegedly setting a vacant house on fire on N. Horners La in Rockville on April 23, 2022. Gomez, along with a juvenile, was also charged for motor vehicle thefts in April and June of this year that also involved arson.

Novavax, a Gaithersburg-based, biotechnology company dedicated to developing and commercializing next-generation vaccines for serious infectious diseases, announced that the Novavax COVID-19 Vaccine, Adjuvanted (NVX-CoV2373) has received emergency use authorization (EUA) from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to provide a two-dose primary series for active immunization to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in individuals 18 years of age and over.
Per the press release: “Today’s FDA emergency use authorization of our COVID-19 vaccine provides the U.S. with access to the first protein-based COVID-19 vaccine,” said Stanley C. Erck, President and Chief Executive Officer, Novavax. “This authorization reflects the strength of our COVID-19 vaccine’s efficacy and safety data, and it underscores the critical need to offer another vaccine option for the U.S. population while the pandemic continues.”
The Defendants’ Allegedly Submitted over 200 Fraudulent Unemployment Insurance Claims to the Maryland Department of Labor and California Department of Labor
Per the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Maryland: A federal grand jury has returned an indictment charging nine defendants in relation to a Maryland and California CARES Act COVID-19 unemployment insurance scheme. The indictment charges the defendants with wire fraud, aggravated identity theft, and theft of United States Postal Office arrow keys. The indictment was returned on June 21, 2022, and unsealed upon the defendants’ self-surrenders and arrests. Charged in the indictment are:
Kusshi Sushi opened its first location in Pike & Rose back in 2018, taking over the space that was formerly home to Carluccio’s next to Owen’s Ordinary. Last week, the restaurant opened its second location at 1201 W Joyce St in Arlington, VA’s Westpost, in the storefront that was formerly home to Namaste Everest. Locations #3 and #4 opening by the end of this summer in Silver Spring and Vienna.
The menu at the Arlington location is similar to the Pike & Rose location, with the menu including a wide variety of sushi, sashimi, katsu, ramen, and massive selection of sake. Currently only indoor seating is available, but outdoor seating will come at a later time.
With last year’s rental prices having grown at nearly double the rate of any previous year, the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2022’s Best & Worst Places to Rent in America. Nearby Columbia, located in neighboring Howard County, came in first on the list. Washington D.C. was ranked 63rd, and no Montgomery County cities were included on the list.
To help prospective renters get the most bang for their buck, WalletHub compared more than 180 U.S. cities based on 22 key indicators of rental attractiveness and quality of life. The data set ranges from historical rental-price changes to the cost of living to job availability.
