TPC Potomac will host the 2022 Wells Fargo Championship from May 5th-8th at Avenel Farm.
The par 70 golf course measures 7,139 yards and has played host to several PGA TOUR events such as the Quicken Loans National and the Neediest Kids Championship.
“Tia Pepa”, as she’s affectionately known by friends and family has just celebrated her 107th birthday.
Tia Pepa immigrated from Cuba to Maryland almost 50 years ago, primary living in neighboring Prince George’s County. Her grandniece Elizabeth was born and raised in MoCo so Tia Pepa would visit every weekend and walk around Lakeforest Mall mall and go to Price Club (now Costco) for her weekly shopping.

Ikura Asian Sushi at 18212 Flower Hill Way (Flower Hill Shopping Center) in Gaithersburg will have its grand opening this Friday, March 25. It replaces Hunan Best, which was in that location for the last 30 years.
Ikura Asian Sushi features Japanese themed cuisine and is owned by Micky Zheng, who is also the owner of Micky’s Chinese Restaurant at 18204 Contour Rd in Gaithersburg.
Niche recently releases its 2022 list of the ‘Best Places to Live in Maryland’ and 18 of the top 25 are right here in Montgomery County. Niche.com is an American company headquartered in Pittsburgh that runs a ranking and review site. The company is an online resource providing information on K–12 schools, colleges, cities, neighborhoods, and companies across the United States.
The ‘Best Places to Live’ ranking provides a comprehensive assessment of the overall livability of an area. This grade takes into account several key factors of a location, including the quality of local schools, crime rates, housing trends, employment statistics, and access to amenities in an attempt to measure the overall quality of an area.

Jerry’s Subs and Pizza has closed its Aspen Hill location at 13645 Connecticut Ave, an employee of the store confirmed last week.
The location was closed today and all items in the restaurant were sold via auction and picked up today. Our very own Alex T. won auctions for two of the signs and picked them up today.

Two additional construction cranes have been erected at the Twinbrook Quarter site. The second crane went up on February 27 and the third a couple weeks later. The site will include Montgomery County’s second Wegmans location. All of the work will be done within the confines of the site, so no road closures are necessary. The second crane is located on the northwest corner of the construction site, along Route 355. The third crane is located on the east side of the site, mid-block along the future Chapman Avenue. The first crane is located within the site, on the corner of Halpine Road and Route 355.
Foundation work has also started. Crews started pouring the foundation for the first building, starting at the bottom of the underground garage in February. This work will continue for “quite a while” according to Twinbrook Quarter website. Excavation of the site will continue for until the end of March or so.
J. Hollinger’s is preparing for an early April opening in Silver Spring, according to the restaurant’s website. It will be located in the Lee Plaza building at 8601 Georgia Avenue, in the space that was previously home to Ray’s the Classics (later known as just the Classics) from 1998 until 2018.
The restaurant is being opened by Jerry Hollinger and Mike Ellis. Hollinger currently has two other Montgomery County restaurants- The Daily Dish on Grubb Road and The Dish & Dram on Kensington Pkwy in Kensington.
