It has been another busy year at Downtown Crown in Gaithersburg. Since last summer, the development has welcomed several new businesses, seen a handful of longtime tenants move or close, and continues to add new restaurants and retailers that are expected to open in the coming months.
Kitchen Social is nearing the finish line on its first Maryland location, with the Ohio-based restaurant now targeting a late August opening at Downtown Crown in Gaithersburg.
Persiano Gallery is returning to Downtown Crown, taking over the space it previously occupied at 201 Ellington Blvd. after the recent closure of The Container Store.
The Container Store in Gaithersburg will now close permanently, a representative from the store confirmed to The MoCoShow on Monday evening.

A Gaithersburg favorite is getting ready for a new chapter. Taco Bar El Güero, which closed its longtime home inside the Shell station at 10003 B Fields Rd earlier this month, is preparing to open its new restaurant in Downtown Crown this November. The upcoming location, at 200 Ellington Avenue, will take over the space that previously housed BurgerIM and Smashburger (sneak peek available below).
Sixty Vines, the Texas-based restaurant known for its wine-on-tap program and vineyard-inspired cuisine, has had a busy first week at its new Downtown Crown location in Gaithersburg. The restaurant officially opened on Monday, October 13, marking its first location in Maryland, and has seen heavy crowds every night since.
