Per the City of Takoma Park:

The City of Takoma Park is awarding grant funds to support local small businesses in the City. The Department of Housing & Community Development is releasing these funds as a grant to eligible small businesses. The full grant application can be found here:


Chevy Chase

Playa Bowls will open its fifth Montgomery County location at Chevy Chase Lake. Three residential developments are slated to be part of the Chevy Chase Lake development in Chevy Chase and the development is designed to be a walkable, mixed-use community with a town center and access to the Capital Crescent Trail.

It is located adjacent to Connecticut Avenue and the planned Purple Line transit system, which will provide an east-west connection between Montgomery and Prince George’s counties.


Glenmont

Smoke Island is moving in to the location that was home to the recently closed Ruffles of London at 12331-F Georgia Avenue in the Glenmont Shopping Center.

The store refers to itself as “a trendsetting online Tobacco store, offering our first-rate products and exceptional customer service to customers to check our products from the comfort of their own homes.”


Gaithersburg

Per the City of Gaithersburg:

Members from the local arts community will review the submissions and choose designs to be painted on storm drain covers at select locations in the City of Gaithersburg. The selected designs may also be used on banners, posters, coloring books, other educational materials and on social media.


Gaithersburg

Hallowed Grounds Coffee Co. is coming to 15 Fulks Corner Ave in Olde Towne Gaithersburg as part of Saints Row’s “Craft Collective.”

Saints Row announced this past fall that it would be moving to the Fulks Corner location, which was formerly home to Brawling Bear Brewery, this spring. The brewery hopes to be open by the end of April.
