GAITHERSBURG, Md., Dec. 31, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Novavax, Inc. (Nasdaq: NVAX), a biotechnology company dedicated to developing and commercializing next-generation vaccines for serious infectious diseases, today announced that it has completed submission of the final data package, including the complete chemistry, manufacturing and controls module, to fulfill the prerequisites for emergency use authorization (EUA) application request to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for NVX-CoV2373, the company’s recombinant nanoparticle protein-based COVID-19 vaccine with Matrix-M™ adjuvant. Novavax expects to submit a request for EUA for the vaccine in the U.S. in one month in accordance with guidance from the FDA regarding submission of all EUA vaccines.

MCFRS

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue units successfully rescued a dog from Sligo Creek on Sunday morning, according to MCFRS PIO Pete Piringer.

MCFRS received a call at around 11:20am about a dog that was stranded on a rock in Sligo Creek, near Big Millpond, in the Forest Glen area of Silver Spring. When units arrived they found the dog, which appeared to be a puppy, stranded on a rock in the middle of the creek.


MoCoSnow

A winter storm warning has been issued for Central and SE MoCo. A Winter Storm Advisory is in effect for  NW MoCo (Germantown, Clarksburg, Poolesville, Damascus, etc.).

This is the opposite of what we’re used to, as areas further north are usually expected to get more snow. For the areas with a warning, 3-7 inches of snow is expected.


MCFRS

A collision on the outer loop of the beltway has blocked all lanes near Georgia Avenue this morning after a fire engine that was on the scene assisting with a previous accident was struck by a passing motorist, according to MCFRS PIO Pete Piringer.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the fire engine was initially trapped in their car before MCFRS extricated the driver. No word on the condition of the driver.
