First Look at The Grove in Potomac; The Restaurant Hopes to Earn MoCo’s First Michelin Star

The Grove, located at 7747 Tuckerman Ln. in Potomac’s Cabin John Village officially opens on Tuesday,  November 28th. The Grove hopes to become Montgomery County’s first Michelin star restaurant on the strength of Chef José López-Picazo’s menu and we have a first look video below.

The Grove is located in the space that was recently home to Lahinch, but has a very different look than any restaurant that came before it in the Potomac shopping center. With aspirations to become Montgomery County’s first Michelin Star restaurant, it is off to a great start- at least according to our very own @MrMoCo301.

Common Plate Hospitality, has brought in Chef José López-Picazo, who  isn’t new to MoCo- helping Chef José Andrés open Jaleo (now Spanish Diner) in Bethesda in the early 2000s. Picazo trained at the Madrid Cooking Institute and also has Michelin eat the two Michelin-starred Picasso in the Bellagio in Las Vegas. While the ultimate goal is a Michelin star that could come from a tasting menu that will soon be available at The Grove, the menu currently consists of appetizers from $14-$28 and entrees ranging from $45-$75.

The Grove’s menu is described as Mediterranean that is primarily Iberian (Spain) with hints of Greece, Italy, and Morocco. For now, the restaurant will be open on Sunday-Thursday from 4pm until 10pm and Friday/Saturday from 4pm until midnight, offering the a la carte dinner menu, a cocktail menu consisting of variations of drinks not yet seen in MoCo, and a robust wine menu that will soon include a Maryland ice wine.
