Third ATM Armed Robbery In The Last Month Has Occurred in Takoma Park

The third armed robbery to take place at an ATM in Takoma Park in the last month occurred on Saturday morning, January 6, at approximately 10:40 am.

According to police, officers “responded to the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue for the report of a strong-arm robbery.  The victim was robbed at the Citibank ATM by two suspects.  After the robbery, the two suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Suspect 1:  Black male, black dreadlocks, last seen wearing a blue jacket, unknown colored pants, and a black string wrapped around his head
Suspect 2:  Black male is the only description provided

Lookout information was provided to all surrounding jurisdictions.  This investigation is ongoing.
Investigators are asking that anyone with information about this incident, or knows the identities of the suspects, please contact the Takoma Park Police Department at 301-270-1100 and refer to case #240000877.”

Armed robberies at Takoma Park ATMs also occurred on December 29th  at 6:26pm and on December 13th at 11:08 pm at the Capital One Bank ATM located on the 1100 block of University Blvd. A fourth incident at ATM, which was not categorized as an armed robbery, occurred on December 16th, at approximately 1:20pm. Police responded to a call for an assault on a victim by four suspects at a Wells Fargo ATM also located on the 1100 block of University Blvd (that call was categorized as an assault, but not an armed robbery).
