Almost 14 Years Ago Stuart Isaac Left His Maryland Home on a Cross-Country Trip to Yellowstone National Park. He Was Never Seen Again.

On September 6th, 2010, 48-year-old Stuart Isaac left his Burtonsville home on a cross country trip to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, and was never seen or heard from again.

Stuart Isaac was born in the Pacific Island nation of Palau. At the time of his disappearance, he was living with his family in Burtonsville, Maryland. He left a note for his family on September 6th letting them know he was going on a cross-country trip (no return date was mentioned) and left in his black, 2009 Lexus IS-250. Two and a half weeks later, on September 24, 2010, Stuart called Matsue Evens- an old friend from high school who was living in Guam. Evens stated she found the call odd since they usually communicated via text message or e-mail due to living in different time zones, but they spoke for approximately two hours. During the call, Stuart told her he was heading to Yellowstone, which was 32 hours away from his Burtonsville home.

During a routine night patrol on September 26, 2010, Stuart’s Lexus (with vanity license plate BELLEK) was found abandoned at Craig Pass, located on the lower grand loop road in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. The car was locked with the keys still inside, but there were no traces of Stuart. With no hiking trails in the area, an air and ground search began almost immediately upon finding his vehicle, but no clues as to the whereabouts of Stuart were ever found.

Stuart Isaac remains listed as lost/injured missing. as well as the circumstances surrounding his disappearance, remains unknown. His case is currently classified as lost/injured missing. He is a Pacific Islander male with black hair and brown eyes. Stuart stands between 5’8 and 5’10  tall and weighs approximately 220 pounds. At the time of his disappearance, Stuart has a tattoo on his right tricep and one on each shoulder blade. He may have had a mustache and short hair. Anyone with any information regarding the disappearance of Stuart Isaac may contact the National Park Service at (307) 344-2607, or the Montgomery County Police Department at 240-777-0788.
