Metro will preview the upcoming summer construction work on the Red Line from Glenmont to Fort Totten on Tuesday morning at the top-level of the Paul S. Sarbanes Transit Center in Silver Spring at 11:30am. Dates of station closures available in the image above.

This summer, MDOT is building the Purple Line mezzanine that will connect to the Paul S. Sarbanes Transit Center and the Red Line station at Silver Spring. Metro is also performing maintenance along the stretch between Glenmont and Fort Totten.

The work will be done in two phases. June 1 through June 29 Glenmont, Wheaton, Forest Glen, Silver Spring, and Takoma stations will be closed. Then June 30 through Aug. 31, the construction area will shrink with the Takoma Station reopening, while the four other stations remain closed.

Free, Local, and Limited-Stop Shuttle buses will be provided between Glenmont and Fort Totten, and free Express Shuttle buses will run directly between Silver Spring and downtown DC.
