$50,000 Winning Scratch-off Sold in Gaithersburg

A Gaithersburg woman is $50,000 richer after purchasing a winning lottery scratch-off ticket from Gaitherstowne Beer & Wine at 296 North Frederick Ave. Full story below courtesy of MDLottery:

The interest in the $50,000 Cash scratch-off continues with yet another $50,000 top prize winner, the third in just one week. The popular scratch-off, which launched in December of 2022 with 160 $50,000 top prizes has 74 remaining. The most recent win was claimed by a Montgomery County woman on April 29.

It was a few weeks back that Lottery luck shined on the scratch-off enthusiast. The lucky lady stopped in Gaithersburg Beer & Wine specifically for purchase Lottery tickets. She chose five of the $50,000 Cash scratch-offs. She scratched some in the store, but the excitement came at home where the $50,000 prize was revealed. The winner said she was sitting with her husband when she scratched the winning ticket.

“The very first line that I scratched showed the $50,000 win,” she smiled. “Oh, my goodness, I could not believe it was a winner.”

The mother of grown children said her husband shared in the joy of her big win.

“We are so happy,” she said. “Dancing around.”

The Gaithersburg woman shared with Lottery Officials that she plans to make some home improvements with the $50,000 windfall and will take a vacation with her husband.

The store that sold the winning ticket also has reason to celebrate. Gaithersburg Beer & Wine, located at 296 North Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg receives a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling the $50,000 top-prize winning scratch-off.

As mentioned, the $50,000 Cash scratch-off still has 74 top-prizes remaining, as well as 86 $5,000 prizes and many more prizes ranging from $20 to $500.
