In this article we take a look at five upcoming restaurants that have created the most buzz on our website and associated social media accounts within the last couple of months. Today we’re going to highlight the five (in no particular order) that have generated the most buzz in the last few months in terms of views, likes, and shares:

El Patio (Rockville/N.Potomac): El Patio Argentine Restaurant has signed on to take over the space at 9755 Traville Gateway Drive–previously the home of Nantucket’s Reef in the Traville Village Center in Rockville. More here.

Dave’s Hot Chicken (Rockville/N. Bethesda): California-based Dave’s Hot Chicken opened its first Montgomery County location in White Oak on November 15 and is set to launch a second restaurant at 11564 Rockville Pike in the Metro Pike Shopping Center This new Dave’s site will occupy the former McDonald’s location, which recently relocated to 11710 Rockville Pike. Nan Xiang Soup Dunplings and Shiki Fusion (Bethesda): Michelin-recommended Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings and Shiki Fusion will be joining the Montgomery Mall Food Terrace. Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings, a New York-based restaurant will open in the former Urban Plates space next to Shake Shack and will be the only sit-down restaurant in the food court. Shiki Fusion, blending Japanese precision with Thai passion, will serve premium seafood, organic herbs, and high-quality spices. Located above Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings and across from the AMC movie theater, the restaurant promises a “unique culinary experience combining the refined artistry of Japanese cuisine with the bold, vibrant flavors of Thailand.” More here.

Uchiko (Bethesda): The award‑winning Uchi was opened by Chef Tyson Cole in 2003 in a refurbished old home in South Austin. Uchi is now located in 5 cities with plans to expand into more markets in the future, including an upcoming Uchiko location right here in Bethesda, MD. More here.

Tokoa Cheesesteaks (Silver Spring): Commas Food Hall, a new 13,000-square-foot food destination on the third level of Ellsworth Place (8661 Colesville Rd) in Downtown Silver Spring, is slated to open later this spring. One of its featured stalls is Tokoa Cheesesteaks. The restaurant, which opened its first location in College park, writes, “We’re obsessed with creating delicious experiences. Our menu is a fusion of creativity and quality, featuring signature cheesesteaks, flavorful tacos, crispy mac & cheese bites, and quesadillas. Each item is a testament to our commitment to crafting unforgettable flavors.” More here.
