Goodwill is offering 25% off purchases of $50 or more as part of the grand opening of its new Rockville location at the Montrose Shopping Center, set for Saturday, May 9 at 9am.
The official Goodwill website confirms the opening details and highlights the limited-time promotion, with restrictions applying. The new location will include both a retail store and donation center. Signage indicates that donations are already being accepted ahead of opening day.
Plans for the store were first reported in December, when Goodwill was set to take over the space previously occupied by Planet Aid. That thrift store and donation center closed in September as part of a planned relocation, though a new nearby site has not been announced. Since then, construction has steadily progressed, with the interior now appearing complete as the store prepares to open to the public.
The new Randolph Road location adds to Goodwill’s growing presence in the Rockville area. The nonprofit will continue operating its Boiling Brook Parkway store just over a mile away, while the Montrose Shopping Center site provides a larger footprint in a busy shopping center anchored by MOM’s Organic Market. A new Germantown location is also expected to open this spring at Waters Village Shopping Center.
