New and Coming Soon to Olney (Fall 2026)

Below is a list of new and upcoming restaurants in Olney, MD.

Angelo’s Pizza Pasta and Deli is coming to 5500 Olney Laytonsville Road in Olney, with the restaurant expected to open towards the end of the year. Angelo’s will be located in the space most recently occupied by Rock Creek Tavern and, before that, Mackie’s BBQ. The Olney location will feature a sit-down Italian restaurant concept along with pizza by the slice. Plans also include a bar and beer and wine carryout. Angelo’s is also preparing to open a location at North Pointe at Flower Hill, a new 16,000-square-foot retail and restaurant center at 18251 Flower Hill Way in Gaithersburg. That location is expected to open in approximately two and a half months and will introduce a different, more customizable format. The Gaithersburg restaurant will allow customers to move down a service line and build their own pizzas, pasta dishes, calzones and subs. Pasta options are expected to include choices such as penne and linguine, while subs will include chicken parmesan, eggplant and Italian cold cuts. Neapolitan-style pizza dough will be stretched in front of customers before being cooked in a brick stone oven, with pizzas expected to cook in under two minutes. Unlike similar fast-casual concepts like &Pizza, the restaurant will not use a conveyor-belt oven. Angelo’s currently operates at 4011 Norbeck Road in Rockville, but the company has larger expansion plans. Angelo’s intends to expand throughout Montgomery County and eventually franchise the concept to Montgomery County residents specifically. The upcoming Gaithersburg restaurant is being developed as the model location for that future franchise expansion.

Buffalo Wild Wings GO is is now open at 3231 Spartan Rd., in the former Three Points Cycles space. The scaled-down Buffalo Wild Wings concept focuses primarily on takeout and delivery. The Olney restaurant is the fourth Buffalo Wild Wings GO to open in Montgomery County. The Gaithersburg location, which opened in August 2025, was the first of the GO concepts to open in the county. Additional BWW GO locations have opened in the Crossroads at Kensington shopping center at 10619 Connecticut Ave and Burtonsville Village Center at 15500B Old Columbia Pike. A fifth location is planned for Bethesda.

Bubbakoo’s Burritos is now open at 16822 Georgia Ave. Bubbakoo’s Burritos is a fast-casual Mexican fusion chain founded in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, in 2008. The concept centers on customizable burritos, bowls, tacos, and quesadillas, along with a menu that includes specialty items and house created combinations. The chain opened its first Montgomery County location as a stall inside Market Hall at Clarksburg Premium Outlets, located at 22705 Clarksburg Road in 2025.

Chicken Salad Chick has delayed the grand opening of its upcoming Olney restaurant. The restaurant had been scheduled to open this month at 18209 Olney Village Center Dr. The owners thanked the Olney Chamber of Commerce, Montgomery County Councilmember Dawn Luedtke and her staff member Aaron Kraut for their assistance in trying to resolve the situation. “We WILL OPEN…just (much) later than we had hoped,” the restaurant stated. The Olney location is taking over the former karate studio space next to Hallmark and will be operated by franchise owners Jim Schleckser and Carrie Tydings. The restaurant previously announced a week of grand opening giveaways, including a chance for the first 100 guests in line to win free chicken salad for a year. The latest announcement did not provide revised giveaway dates or confirm whether the previously announced participation details will remain the same. Chicken Salad Chick offers a variety of signature chicken salad flavors, along with soups, sandwiches, salads and desserts. A confirmed opening date will be shared when available.

The Enchanted Oak, an immersive holiday experience, will run from November 13 through January 10 at the Whispering Spirit Speakeasy at Lone Oak Farm Brewing Co., located at 5000 Olney Laytonsville Road in Olney. The seasonal event will feature holiday displays, lights, food and drinks, photo opportunities and additional ticketed programming for adults, families and children.

TOUS Les JOURS is now open in the former Five Guys space at 3333 Olney Sandy Spring Road. Five Guys closed the Olney location in December after several years in the shopping center, telling customers at the time that the brand plans to return to the area in the future. In the meantime, the space is being repurposed for TOUS Les JOURS, a French-Asian bakery known for its wide selection of baked goods and café offerings. TOUS Les JOURS features a variety of breads, pastries, and cakes that are baked in-store daily. The menu also includes an extensive lineup of coffee and espresso-based drinks, along with teas, making it a popular stop for both quick visits and longer sit-down breaks. The Olney location will join a growing footprint for the bakery in Montgomery County. The first county location opened inside New Grand Mart at 13069 Wisteria Drive in Germantown. A second TOUS Les JOURS later took over the longtime Corner Bakery space at Rio in Gaithersburg.

Qdoba has signed on to open its fourth Montgomery County restaurant, taking over the space previously occupied by Eco Cleaners at 3486 Olney Laytonsville Road in the Olney Shopping Center. The fast-casual Mexican chain will be located next to Royal Bagel Bakery. Qdoba Mexican Eats is known for its customizable Mexican-inspired menu, allowing customers to build their own burritos, bowls, tacos, nachos, and salads by choosing from a variety of proteins, rice, beans, and toppings. The chain is especially popular for its 3-Cheese Queso and its long-standing policy of including guacamole and queso at no extra charge on entrees. The Olney restaurant will join existing Montgomery County locations on Tech Road in Silver Spring, Rollins Avenue in Rockville, and in the Rock Grove shopping center in Gaithersburg, which opened in 2022.
