Bethesda continues to see a wave of new businesses opening their doors while several highly anticipated concepts move closer to opening. From restaurants and fitness centers to retail and dessert destinations, here’s a look at what’s new and what’s coming soon in and around downtown Bethesda.
Now Open In Bethesda:
The wellness lifestyle brand ALO has opened its first Montgomery County location at Bethesda Row in Bethesda. The new store is located at 7236 Woodmont Avenue, Unit 45, and is now welcoming customers. Store hours are 10am-8pm Monday through Saturday and 10am-6pm on Sundays. More here.
Collars & Co., the menswear brand known for its appearance on Shark Tank, officially opened its flagship Bethesda store on June 10. More here.
National recognition recently came to Max’s Best Ice Cream, which was named one of Food & Wine magazine’s “6 Coolest New Ice Cream Shops in America” less than a year after opening in Bethesda. More here.
Sense of Thai has officially opened its first Maryland location at Westbard Square. The restaurant, located at 5314 Zenith Overlook, Suites 3 and 4, marks the Northern Virginia-based concept’s first expansion into Maryland. More here.
Johnnie-O opened its first Maryland store at Bethesda Row in May. The Southern California lifestyle brand offers apparel, footwear, and accessories for men, women, and children. More here.

Coming Soon To Bethesda:
Agora, the popular Mediterranean restaurant known for its Turkish, Greek, and Lebanese cuisine, has announced that its first Maryland location will officially open on July 10 in downtown Bethesda. More here.
Taco Bamba has announced plans to open a new location later this year at 4905 Fairmont Avenue in downtown Bethesda. More here.

Shake Shack continues to move toward opening its downtown Bethesda location. After signage was installed earlier this year, the restaurant appeared before Montgomery County Alcohol Beverage Services in June for its liquor license hearing and is aiming to open later this summer. More here.
The former Tako Grill space at 4914 Hampden Lane is being redeveloped by a local restaurant group that plans to introduce two new concepts: Sushi Masato and The One Cakes. More here.
PopUp Bagels is preparing to bring its first Montgomery County location to 7607 Old Georgetown Road. The viral bagel concept already made its DMV debut in Georgetown, and the Bethesda shop is expected to open later this year. More here.
Call Your Mother Deli continues work on its new permanent downtown Bethesda location at 4828 St. Elmo Avenue. While an opening date has not yet been announced, the popular deli is expected to open later this year. More here.
