Michelin-recommended Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings is continuing its Maryland expansion, with a new location coming soon to The Mall in Columbia in Howard County.
The mall announced the upcoming addition on Monday, writing, “It’s official! Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings is coming soon to The Mall in Columbia! Get ready for the newest addition to your dining lineup. Whether you’re craving soup dumplings or exploring new flavors, Nan Xiang has you covered.”
The Shanghainese restaurant was founded in Flushing, New York, in 2006 and has earned Michelin recognition for nine consecutive years. The brand is best known for its handcrafted xiao long bao, or soup dumplings.
Nan Xiang made its Maryland debut in October 2025 at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. The restaurant expanded again earlier this year with the opening of its second Maryland location at National Harbor in Prince George’s County. The Columbia restaurant will become the chain’s third location in the state.
Nan Xiang’s menu features soup dumplings in several varieties, including pork, crab meat, chicken, truffle, scallop, abalone and vegetable. Its popular “Lucky Six” basket includes one of each signature flavor.
The menu also includes dim sum, handmade dumplings, noodle soups, stir-fried noodles, fried rice, rice cakes and several Shanghainese specialties. An all-day breakfast menu features items such as scallion pancakes, crispy dough sticks, soybean milk and traditional pastries.
An opening date for the new Mall in Columbia location has not yet been announced.
