Bethesda

While there’s a lot of campaigning left to do, I decided to put together a panel of six people that are pretty involved in the happenings within our county so that we can figure out which candidates may be leading this race a few months before the primaries.

Our panel consists of the following people (top left to right in the photo, then bottom left to right):

Clarksburg

No mention of psychiatric evaluation, per @MichaelGordonTV

With more facts being provided by court documents filed in his case, we wanted to provide an update on Alwin Chen, the 18 year old Clarksburg High School student charged with bringing a loaded gun to school.

Restaurant

The Rockville location will be their first on the east coast and will be joining Cava and Honeygrow at Montrose Crossing. These very strong fast casual restaurants will quickly help us forget about Timpano Italian Chophouse, the restaurant that was demolished to make way for the current structure that is home to the fast-casual eateries.

Slapfish is planning on opening over a dozen Mid-Atlantic locations in the coming years. The Montrose Crossing location in Rockville will open in the late spring/early summer.

Silver Spring

The incident occurred on Old Columbia Pike and the victim was able to walk to the Burtonsville Volunteer Fire Department for help, according to NBC Washington

NBC Washington also states that police are investigating the incident, but that the school community is not in imminent danger.

Gaithersburg

Included in the gift basket will be 2 passes to the “Dogfish in Dublin” brunch on Sunday, March 18th ($40 each), Dogfish Head and MoCoShow gear, drinking glasses and a growler, as well as a $25 Dogfish Head gift card! The winner will be chosen on Thursday, March 15th at 7pm at Dogfish Head Alehouse in Gaithersburg!

Contest rules are as follows (you can enter three times in three different ways!):

MCPS

This comes on the heels of over 1,000 MCPS students walking out of school this past Wednesday to attend a gun control rally on Capitol Hill.

The event is limited to high school students in Montgomery County and will take place at the Blair High School auditorium.

Downtown Silver Spring

Mildren Charley-Green, from Northwood High School in Silver Spring, was named MASSP (Maryland Association of Secondary Proncipals) High School Principal of the Year.

Myriam Yarbrough, principal at Paint Branch High School in Burtonsville, is the 2018 recipient of the Dr. Edward Shirley Award for Excellence in Educational Administration and Supervision.

MCPS

Blair led 30-24 at the half in a back and forth game, but found themselves trailing by 3 with 12.5 seconds left In the game.

Trailing 53-56, the Blazers missed a three with 6 seconds left, got an offensive rebound, and drained one from long range with .8 seconds left. They went on to win in OT, 66-62.

Bethesda

The renovation of the theater to include reclining seats, upgrades concession offerings, etc. will start soon. It appears as though AMC is upping their game ahead of the Cinepolis Luxury theater that is supposed to arrive just a couple miles down the street in the Kentlands later this year (November 2018). AMC will remain open during renovations.

Earlier this week we broke the news that Dave & Buster’s officially executed the lease with Rio. They are still in the process of acquiring all of the proper permits, but according to the e-mail it is expected to open sometime in 2019.
