The observations below were taken by trained spotters for the National Weather Service. This article shows snow totals taken either towards the end of the storm or after it ended, and not all areas have observations reported:
Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) has identified the following sixteen (16) geographical sites located throughout the county for emergency meal service on January 7, 2025. Grab and Go meal distribution will be available from 12pm-2pm for ages 18 and under. Families may pick up meals and bring them home to enjoy. Heating instructions will be included.
The Washington Commanders battled it out with the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, with the Commanders winning 23-19 and securing the 6th seed in the NFL playoffs. Metrobus expects to operate under a Severe service plan on Tuesday, Jan. 7 and will increase service as roads become passable throughout the day. Severe service will reduce the number of Metrobus routes from 193 to 42.
Montgomery County government has a website that can answer the question of “who plows my street?”, shows you snow removal status, and allows you to submit a snow-related service request to the county or state.
On Monday, January 6, 2025, the President signed into law: H.R. 4984, the “D.C. Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium Campus Revitalization Act,” which directs the Secretary of the Interior to transfer administrative jurisdiction over the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium Campus to the District of Columbia to allow the District to use the Campus for stadium development, residential and commercial development, and other specified purposes. This bill makes it possible for the Washington Commanders to return to DC if they choose the RFK site for their new stadium.
The Washington Commanders finished the regular season with a 12-5 record, the team’s best since 1991. Now they prepare for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL Playoffs, but in this article we will look ahead to their opponents in the 2025 season.
