Maryland

PRRI collected and aggregated data on religious diversity in America from 2014-2023, which contains 417,000 cases of Americans across all 50 states. The full data set was merged with county-level from the U.S. Census Bureau and the MIT Election Lab on 3,142 counties across all 50 states to produce a rigorous estimate of the religious demographics of every county in the United States with Montgomery County, MD coming out as the most religiously diverse in the country (Top 10 below).

Gaithersburg

At the Gaithersburg Mayor and City Council meeting on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, Community Services Case Worker Geraldine Bernedo, Deputy City Attorney Frank Johnson, and the Tornado Response and Retool Gaithersburg Teams were recognized with Employee Recognition Awards for the second quarter of calendar year 2024.

The Maryland-National Capital Park Police have arrested Jose Ivan Cordova-Blanco of Hyattsville, Maryland, in connection to indecent conduct charges that occurred on Saturday, August 17, 2024, on Sligo Creek Trail in Takoma Park, Md. A mugshot was not provided in the press release.

Crime

On Tuesday, Dennis Hinnant, 30, of Silver Spring, was sentenced to 40 years in prison for the second-degree murder of his wife, Taresha Pendarvis, after turning himself in to police and confessing to the crime in February 2023. (more…)
