A BizJournals report from earlier this month states that “signs point to an Amazon Fresh reboot” in White Oak. This comes after Amazon Fresh appeared to pull out of a planned 41,000 SF market in White Oak Town Center after it took the place of a planned Trader Joe’s location in 2022. Amazon Fresh also removed signage from a nearly completed Shady Grove Rd. location last year as it paused or cancelled dozens of stores across the country, many of which were also already built.
Taste opened its first Montgomery County location at 7276 Wisconsin Ave in Bethesda back in March 2021. Now, the bakery has signed on to open a second Montgomery County location just a couple miles away at the Bethesda’s new Westbard Square shopping center, according to BizJournals.
The following is an official statement by Loudoun County Fire & Rescue on the home explosion that was heard across various parts of the DMV last night. “At approximately 7:38 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2024, the Loudoun County Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call reporting an odor of gas outside of a residence in the 300 block of Silver Ridge Drive in Sterling.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is awarding $970 million from President Biden’s Bipartisan Investing in America agenda to 114 airports across the country, spanning 44 states and three territories. This will include three local airports– Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) in Maryland, Martin State Airport in Maryland, and Washington Dulles Airport in Virginia.

Shortly before 8:30pm on Friday night we received various reports of a loud boom being heard/felt in various parts of the DC Metro Area- from Loudoun County, to Montgomery, and DC. This is being attributed to a house explosion on Silver Ridge Dr. in Sterling VA that has killed one firefighter and injured 11 other people (including 9 firefighters).
The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) has sent a press release with information regarding the upcoming storm. The MCDOT Storm Operations Center (SOC) will activate at 10 p.m. tonight to begin monitoring & treating County roads.
