Gaithersburg

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services Responded to a call for a crash on Stewartown Road and Green Village Drive in Montgomery Village/Gaithersburg late Saturday morning.

According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer the collision involved two vehicles. Responding units arrived on scene and evaluated two patients, who were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The intersection remained block shortly after noon on Saturday.


Maryland

The Maryland Department of Transportation’s Office of Minority Business Enterprise today announced the Personal Net Worth cap applied to the Minority Business Enterprise Program will increase from $1,995,008 to $2,073,412, effective January 1, 2024.

Gaithersburg

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a crash that occurred in the area of the I-270 ramp on W Diamond Ave in Gaithersburg at approximately 7:45pm on Friday night.

According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, W Diamond Ave was shut down between Perry Parkway and Bureau Dr. for a collision with entrapment. Three patients were transported to the hospital, two with priority 2 (serious, but non-life threatening injuries). The road reopened later on Friday night. There is no word on the cause of the crash.


Kensington

Last year we let you know that Tacos Don Perez will be taking over the location that was home to K-Town Bistro at 3784 Howard Ave in Kensington for the last 12 years. After a few delays, the restaurant has made progress and hopes to open in early 2024 (food photos below).

Maryland

The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) has congratulated 17 counties and municipalities in Maryland for their selection to receive more than $28 million in Fiscal Year 2023 Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grants. Awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation, these grants are an important step toward meeting Maryland’s goal of Vision Zero – the elimination of all traffic fatalities and severe injuries on Maryland roadways by 2030.
