According to District 3 Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) Commander Jason Cokinos, a downtown Silver Spring resident spotted two individuals attempting to steal a car and called 911. Montgomery County Police quickly responded, and after a short foot chase, both suspects were apprehended and taken into custody. (more…)

Torchy’s Tacos, known for their “Damn Good Tacos,” will hold the grand opening of its first DMV location (12266 Rockville Pike, Rockville) on Wednesday, October 2nd at 10am. The first 100 people in line will receive a keychain that lets them get free queso for a year one. Montgomery County’s State’s Attorney’s Office has launched the second annual “Speak Up, Save a Life” Student Video PSA Contest, inviting middle and high school students to create short videos highlighting the dangers of drug use, with top prizes of up to $1,000 and a submission deadline of November 8.

Attorney General Anthony G. Brown announced a settlement with True Bullion LLC (GSI Exchange) allowing Maryland clients to receive refunds for precious metals purchases after GSI Exchange and its senior partner were accused of acting as unregistered investment advisers and making misleading statements, particularly to senior citizens.
