Per the Montgomery County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security: “Montgomery County has activated a Hyperthermia Alert for extreme heat for Friday, 6/21 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Expect the heat index to be above 95 degrees. Stay hydrated. Take precautions to protect yourself & pets from heat-related illnesses.
The Montgomery County Department of Permitting Services (DPS) has introduced an automated system for permitting applications, aimed at speeding up the approval process for residential rooftop solar installations. (more…)

The City of Rockville has released a list of facilities that will be open this weekend for residents to visit to escape the expected extreme heat.
Permanent signage is up at Taco De Birria by Rice Bar at 14 Bureau Dr in the Diamond Square shopping center in Gaithersburg. The restaurant will be located in the space previously occupied by Rooh Bistro, which opened and closed in 2020.
