Clear Skies Meadery Adding New Production Facility in Rockville

Clear Skies Meadery, located at 325 Main Street in the Kentlands, is building a new production facility at 15201 Display Court in Rockville.

While they may eventually open a small tasting room/bar at the production facility, they plan to use the facility to ramp up production of their mead and make it available for distribution in the Maryland/DC area.

You will be able to fill growlers and buy mead to go from the location.

They hope to have to have everything up and running by the fall.

Clear Skies is MoCo’s first meadery. Mead is an alcoholic beverage created by fermenting honey with water, sometimes with various fruits, spices, grains, or hops.

The meadery offers a variety of mead styles and honey varietals, including:

Traditional Dry (wildflower)
Semi Sweet (wildflower)
Sweet (orange blossom)
Traditional Dry (clover)
Traditional Dry (alfalfa)
Vanilla Oaked (orange blossom)
Passionfruit (orange blossom)
Strawberry (wildflower)
Raspberry (orange blossom)
Hopped (wildflower)

Yancy Bodenstein and his wife Laura teamed with Manisha Eigner to bring Clear Skies Meadery to MoCo.  The location in the Kentlands opened on March 13th, 2020, days before businesses were forced to close and change how they operate due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
