Congratulations to the following MCPS high schools that won recent athletics championships! The Sherwood boys’ wrestling team won the 4A North Regional Championship. The James Hubert Blake girls’ indoor track and field team are the 4A West regional champions. Swimming and diving division champs include:
- Division I – Walter Johnson (Girls) and Winston Churchill (Boys)
- Division II – Richard Montgomery (Girls) and Quince Orchard (Boys)
- Division III – Col. Zadok Magruder (Girls) and Rockville (Boys)
- Division IV – James Hubert Blake (Girls) and Northwood (Boys)
And Northwood won the county championship in bocce for the first time in school history.

FYI, the Rockville boys went on to win the 3A state championship on Saturday. Poolesville had held the title for 10 straight years. First state swimming title in school history and first state title in any sport since the 1990s.
