The National Weather Service (NWS) has stated that an “active weather day looms ahead” amidst hot temperatures rising into the mid/upper 90s (heat indices of 100-105).
Starting Sunday, June 30, Metro customers will see a slight fare increase, which Metro says will “help keep fares in line with cost of living adjustments and allows us to keep running our current levels of service.”

U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has stated that a 1.8 magnitude earthquake occurred in Spencerville, near Cloverly and Burtonsville, in Montgomery County on Monday Night. USGS reports that the 5.9-depth earthquake occurred shortly before 11:30 pm on Monday night near Spencerville, Maryland.
